Foreign Ministry Follows Up on Nuweiba Traffic Accident and Confirms Jordanians Among the Dead and Injured

Al-Taj News – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is following up on the traffic accident that occurred this morning in the city of Nuweiba in the Arab Republic of Egypt, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries.

The ministry’s official spokesperson, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, said that information received by the Jordanian Embassy in Cairo indicates that an Egyptian passenger bus carrying a number of Jordanian and Egyptian passengers was involved in a traffic accident this morning.

Al-Majali explained that preliminary information indicates that a number of Jordanians are among the dead and injured, noting that the ministry, through the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs and the Jordanian Embassy in Cairo, is following up on the accident with the Egyptian authorities.

He added that a team from the Jordanian Embassy in Cairo is on its way to Nuweiba to follow up on the conditions of the injured and arrange for the transfer of the bodies of the deceased to the Kingdom.

Al-Majali expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased, praying to Almighty God to grant them His abundant mercy and to give their families patience and solace, and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
